More about linear function

Now we are going to learn some advance linear functions.

y=mx+b  is the format of a linear function.

"b" is the Y intercept point.A Y intercept is the point that locates right on the Y axis and it has a major property,which is when X=0,the output of a linear function is always the term "b" which is the y intercept.Like the following examples:

They have differnt "b",so their positions are not the same.

 But they have the same propety,Which is they are all pointting at the same direction.Now we are going to take a close look at their "m" terms.They all share the same "m" term.It is the slope,slope is used to describe the steepness, incline, gradient, or grade of a straight line.That's why they point at the same direction.Let's see the examples below.

See?Now they are pointing at differnt directions because the slopes are different.
